EDIT: Where the hell are the Ninja Wizards? Answer me.
According to Boromir's very own words: "Oh man, that would be so frickin' AWESOME!" So...here's our man showing us how it's done!
Totally inspired by the Lord of the Rings gif > [link]
This was mainly a digital painting study, with emphasis on "painting". Took me several days to finish, most of the time though was finding a good painterly appearance, by studying Monet, Sargent, and Michael Kutsche. Still getting there, but it seems the right way to go further
So, compleely done in Painter 11, some adjustments in Photoshop.
You cannot see the ninja wizards. If you could, they wouldn't be ninjas.

This is a really great idea, and a very amusing one at that! The composition is great, and the expressions are perfect, with Boromir leading the charge, the upper bear being furious, and the second being very focused on it's mission of lasering it's target to death. While I personally would have liked to see a more vivid color scheme (a mid-day look with more vivid greens, for example), the late afternoon/evening tone does work, and the browns and blacks suggests that Boromir and Co. are at the edge of a desolate landscape, where the vegetation starts to die off.
Overall, this is a great piece (and the fact that it's digital is amazing...it looks 100% like a real painting!), and I'm very glad I got to see it! Any chance of us seeing a sequel pic, where Sauron is recoiling like a little girl as the bears attack him?
